St. Nicholas Abbey Heritage Tour
Culture · St. Peter
Rating: 4.6 / 5
St. Nicholas Abbey in St. Peter is one of only three genuine Jacobean mansions in the Western Hemisphere, built in 1658 and still surrounded by working sugar cane. This three-hour tour covers the great house, the on-site rum distillery (producer of award-winning single-cask rums), and a ride on the Heritage Railway — a restored steam train that runs through mahogany woodlands to Cherry Tree Hill for one of the best east-coast viewpoints on the island. It's a slower, more thoughtful tour, rich with Barbadian history.
