ZR vans are the privately operated minivans that make up the backbone of everyday Barbadian public transport, running fixed routes for a flat .50 BBD fare paid in cash to the conductor on board. The vans are white with a maroon stripe, carry 'ZR' registration plates, and run from before dawn until around midnight from the three main Bridgetown terminals at Fairchild Street, River Road and Princess Alice, plus Speightstown and Oistins in the north and south. They can be hailed on any main road. The music is loud, the driving is quick, and it is the single best way to see how Bajans actually get around.

Grantley Adams International Airport (BGI) receives direct flights from London, New York, Toronto, Miami, and across the Caribbean. Getting around the island is easy — ZR vans (yellow minibuses) run fixed routes for just BBD. Car rental is popular for exploring at your own pace (drive on the left). Taxis are plentiful, and the Bridgetown cruise port welcomes major cruise lines year-round.
