Domestic Violence Protection Orders

Legal · Family Court

Under Barbadian law, any woman can apply for a domestic-violence protection order directly at the Family Court — no lawyer is required and the application is free. The order legally prevents an abuser from contacting, approaching or harassing you, and breach carries serious consequences. Community Legal Services and the BPW Crisis Centre can help you prepare the application. Family Court: Coleridge Street, Bridgetown. Phone: 246-535-9900.
