Silver Sands Beach

South Coast · Christ Church

Rating: 4.6 / 5

Silver Sands is the southernmost beach on the island and the undisputed heart of Barbados kitesurfing and windsurfing. Trade winds blow cross-shore almost year-round, building to 15-25 knots between November and April, and the adjacent Silver Rock break and flat-water lagoon give riders of every level somewhere to work. It's also home to legend Brian Talma's De Action Beach Shop and several IKO-certified schools including Upwind and Endless Kiteboarding. Casual swimmers should know the water is choppy and the wind relentless — this is a wind-sports beach first and a sunbathing beach a distant second.
