Grand Kadooment is the climactic finale of the Crop Over festival, held on the first Monday of August. Thousands of masqueraders in elaborate feathered and sequinned costumes parade through Bridgetown, beginning at the National Stadium and dancing along the Spring Garden Highway to the finish, with flatbed trucks pumping soca and rum flowing freely. It is the biggest single day on the Bajan calendar, a full-on Caribbean carnival on the streets of the capital and the culmination of six weeks of fêtes, competitions and preparation.
