The Oistins Fish Festival is an Easter weekend celebration of Barbados' fishing heritage, staged at Oistins Bay Gardens in Christ Church over four days. Events include boat races, fish-boning competitions, crab racing, net-throwing demonstrations, steel pan, cultural shows and a huge food and craft market. The festival honours the fisherfolk of the south coast and draws thousands of Bajans and visitors over the long weekend. It is a much more family-focused occasion than the regular Friday fish fry but still runs on the same love of the sea.
