Pelican Village

Arts & Crafts · Bridgetown Harbour

Rating: 4.7 / 5

Pelican Village is Barbados' dedicated arts and crafts centre on the Princess Alice Highway, a short walk from the cruise terminal and Pelican Beach. Originally created to house displaced craftspeople from the old Pelican Island, the village is a cluster of small traditional shops selling hand-made pottery, wood carvings, jewellery, paintings, textiles and straw work produced by Bajan artisans. Many vendors are happy to chat about their process, and the village is one of the best places on the island to pick up authentic locally made souvenirs rather than imports.
