Barbados Basketball Association

Basketball · Leagues · All Ages

Rating: 4.5 / 5

The Barbados Basketball Association organises domestic men's, women's and youth leagues, with marquee games played at the Wildey Gymnasium in the Sir Garfield Sobers Sports Complex and community courts across the island. The national teams compete in FIBA Americas and Caribbean Basketball Confederation tournaments, and the sport has a strong school programme through BSSAC inter-school competition. A growing grassroots scene and outdoor community courts from Bridgetown to the rural parishes make basketball one of the more visible youth sports on the island.

About sports in Barbados

Cricket is Barbados. Kensington Oval has hosted World Cup finals, and the island has produced some of cricket's greatest players including Sir Garfield Sobers and Hayley Matthews. Beyond cricket, Barbados offers horse racing at the historic Garrison Savannah, world-class surfing at Bathsheba, polo at Holders, rugby, football, and the Sol Rally — one of the biggest motorsport events in the Caribbean.
