Rating: 4.5 / 5

The Barbados Cycling Union is the governing body for road, track and BMX cycling on the island. Road races and time trials are held regularly on public roads in the less populated parishes, and track racing takes place at the national velodrome adjacent to the National Stadium complex at Wildey. Bajan riders compete in Caribbean and Pan American events, with junior development programmes feeding the senior squad. A growing community of recreational riders and bike shops supports weekend group rides and fitness cycling.

About sports in Barbados

Cricket is Barbados. Kensington Oval has hosted World Cup finals, and the island has produced some of cricket's greatest players including Sir Garfield Sobers and Hayley Matthews. Beyond cricket, Barbados offers horse racing at the historic Garrison Savannah, world-class surfing at Bathsheba, polo at Holders, rugby, football, and the Sol Rally — one of the biggest motorsport events in the Caribbean.
