Rating: 4.6 / 5

Netball is one of the most widely played women's sports in Barbados, organised by the Barbados Netball Association. Club and school leagues run year-round, and the Gems, the senior national team, compete in the Americas Netball Championships and world cup qualifying, hosted at the Netball Stadium at Wildey. Strong schools programmes at NAPSAC and BSSAC level feed the senior pathway, and the sport has produced a long line of regionally capped Bajan internationals. New players and volunteers are welcome at clubs across the island.

About sports in Barbados

Cricket is Barbados. Kensington Oval has hosted World Cup finals, and the island has produced some of cricket's greatest players including Sir Garfield Sobers and Hayley Matthews. Beyond cricket, Barbados offers horse racing at the historic Garrison Savannah, world-class surfing at Bathsheba, polo at Holders, rugby, football, and the Sol Rally — one of the biggest motorsport events in the Caribbean.
